HTANI are delighted to be joining the EA and the Memorial de la Shoah to offer history teachers some high quality professional development on the teaching of the Holocaust and aspects of the Troubles including the use of oral histories and the challenges around celebrations of our shared history.
This two day training event will take place on the 28th/29th November in the Crumlin Road Gaol. The workshop will be facilitated by a number of experts in the areas of the Holocaust and also the Northern Ireland conflict. Speakers include Bruno Boyer (Memorial de la Shoah), Martin Winstone (Senior historical advisor to the Holocaust Educational Trust), Professor Tony Gallagher, Denver Charles (chair of the History Teachers’ Association of Northern Ireland) and Brian Rowan. There will also be a workshop facilitated by EA that looks at using the award-winning BBC series Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland. The programme is attached for more details. In order to attend you must commit to both days. Sub cover will be provided, all catering and if required an overnight in Belfast.
